HEAD COUNSELOR

The Head Counselor will be responsible to, and work with, the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director.  The Head Counselor will be responsible for their cabin as well as other counselors.  The Head Counselors will be at least of college age, a Christian, and willing to participate fully in the camping program. 

The responsibilities of the Head Counselors will include leading the following areas: 

1.  Setting a Christian example in speech, action, attitude, and dress. 

2.  Ensuring camp policies are understood and carried out by campers. 

3.  Being involved in the total camping program. 

4. Provide leadership and spiritual direction over daily counselor meetings, assist with CIT Training.

5. Follow up with the Camp Director when any behavioral/abuse issues arise. 

6. Supervise the female/male counselors under you: providing support, counsel, mentoring, encouragement, and accountability, etc.

7.  Leading small group discussions with assigned campers after each session and praying together.

8.  Sitting with assigned campers during meals, sessions, and other times that the Director may indicate. 

9. Helping with activities, sessions, events, etc. as needed. 

10.  Assisting and working with other camp staff.

11.  Submitting camp and individual camper evaluations to the Camp Director. 

12.  Follow the camp schedule. 

13.  Assisting campers with spiritual needs and other problems. 

14.  Being responsible for campers assigned to you—ensuring they follow all expectations and remain safe 

15.  Assisting the Camp Director.
